A Spring Weekend in Travelers Rest: The Return of the Farmers Market

There’s something about spring in Travelers Rest that just feels different. The days get a little longer, the mountains start to turn green again, and downtown fills with that easy, welcoming energy that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.

And right on cue, one of Travelers Rest’s most loved traditions returns.

The Farmers Market is Back — April 25

Starting April 25 from 8:30-12:00, the Travelers Rest Farmers Market comes back to Trailblazer Park, bringing with it everything we love about spring in TR—fresh produce, local makers, live music, and a strong sense of community.

It’s the kind of place where you grab a coffee, wander without a plan, and leave with a bag full of things you didn’t know you needed—fresh strawberries, a loaf of bread, maybe a bouquet of flowers for the kitchen counter.

But the best part? The market isn’t just something you visit—it’s something you can build your entire weekend around.Your Perfect Farmers Market Weekend

The Travelers Rest Farmer Market

Runs from May through September every Saturday from 8:30-12:00 at Trailblazer Park.

Start Slow with Brunch

Ease into your Saturday with brunch at Topsoil Restaurant, a local favorite known for its seasonal, farm-to-table menu.

It’s the kind of place where brunch isn’t rushed—where you can sip your coffee, enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal, and settle into the pace of the weekend.

Walk or Bike the Swamp Rabbit Trail

From there, step right onto the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail.

Whether you’re walking or biking, this scenic greenway connects you straight from downtown to the Farmers Market at Trailblazer Park. It’s an easy, beautiful ride—and one of the best ways to experience Travelers Rest.

Wander the Market

Once you arrive, take your time.

Pick up fresh, seasonal produce, homemade baked goods, local honey, or flowers. Talk to the farmers. Listen to the music. Let the morning unfold naturally.

This is Travelers Rest at its best—simple, local, and full of life.

Where to Stay: Cook What You Found

To make the most of your Farmers Market experience, we recommend staying somewhere that lets you bring it all home.

The 1950s Charming Cottage is a perfect fit—located just minutes from downtown, with a full kitchen that makes it easy to turn your market finds into a meal.

After a morning at the market, head back, unpack your fresh ingredients, and cook something simple and seasonal. Open the windows, pour a glass of wine, and enjoy a slower kind of evening.

It’s a small detail—but it’s what turns a quick visit into a full experience.

This quiet 2-acre, pet-friendly cottage offers a private yet walkable location to Downtown TR, featuring a spacious lawn, fenced yard with fire pit, cozy mid-century modern interior, 3 bedrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen—perfect for relaxing stays near the Swamp Rabbit Trail.

Settle Into the Evening

As the day winds down, take a stroll through downtown, relax on the porch, or head back out for dinner and live music.

In Travelers Rest, the best moments aren’t rushed—they’re the ones you ease into.

Plan Your Spring Getaway

The return of the Farmers Market is more than just a date on the calendar—it’s the start of the season in Travelers Rest.
