Make It a Weekend in Travelers Rest
September is one of our favorite times to experience Travelers Rest. Summer is beginning to wind down, the Blue Ridge foothills are calling, and there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors.
Come into town on Friday and get settled before heading downtown for dinner. Take a walk along Main Street, stop into a few local shops and enjoy an evening without much of an agenda.
Then wake up Saturday ready for a full day in TR.
Start Saturday on the Swamp Rabbit Trail
There might not be a more Travelers Rest way to start your weekend than hopping on a bike.
The Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail runs straight through downtown Travelers Rest, making it easy to combine a morning ride with breakfast, coffee and a little exploring.
Bring your own bikes or rent some while you're here, then spend the morning seeing TR from the trail before heading back toward town.
Not a cyclist? Take a walk, grab a coffee and spend the morning exploring Main Street instead.
There’s no wrong way to do a Saturday morning in TR.
Explore Downtown Travelers Rest
Give yourself some time before Pickin’ in the Park to see what makes our little town worth the trip.
Pop into locally owned shops, grab lunch, find a patio, pick up something to remember your trip by or simply wander around downtown.
One of the best parts about visiting Travelers Rest is that you don't need a packed itinerary. Downtown, the trail, restaurants, shops and parks are all close enough that you can simply see where the day takes you.
Then Head to Pickin’ in the Park
Saturday’s main event happens at Trailblazer Park, one of the gathering places at the heart of Travelers Rest.
